powerbook 170

Simultaneously with the powerbook 100 apple launched out also the models powerbook 140 and powerbook 170 with system 7.0.1. In the powerbook 140 and 170 apple built its own board with considerably more powerful 68030 processor from motorola. 25 MHz L1 cache and even a floating-point unit made the powerbook 170 to a quite rapid portable device. With $4,600 base price however you paid more than twice the price of the powerbook 100.  The 10"-active matrix LCD of the powerbook 170 with 640x400 pixels was brilliant.
